We've finally found bully sticks we like. After all the problems with the ones we loved for so long, we now are stocked with both 6" and 12" bullies. They truly are odor free and come from Iowa. Hooray!

This month's Whole Dog Journal reminds us that vaccines are not necessary every year – the American Animal Hospital Association changed its recommendation to three years in 2003. If your vet wants to do annual vaccinations, please question it. And only get what is necessary for the situation; not the "usual". More evidence and sentiment is building around the negative aspects of over vaccinating.

August Events

Friday nights in August - Flicks in the Square. Free movie and family fun at dusk.

Sunday, August 8, 8am-2pm. – 2nd Annual Memories Car Show, hosted by 5601 Garage and centered on Grandview and Yukon. We'll have a booth there and the store will also be open that day.

Saturday, August 14, 10am. – Endurance Challenge to benefit Ralston House. This 3 block run requires no training.

Finally, we're putting out our early warning about the Harvest Festival, Sept 10-12. Many streets and parking lots will be blocked starting at noon on Friday. The lot just south of the store is available for customers. If you can avoid the hassle and shop before or after the festival, please do. But, we'll do everything in our power to get you what you need that weekend if you call us – 303-420-2525. More next month. We just hate telling you not to come to our store but that’s the sad reality.

We had a great time participating in the WORLD'S LARGEST PET ICE CREAM SOCIAL last Saturday! Even with the heat, we had a shady spot, water and lots of Nature's Variety Sweetspots Ice Cream! Engine #1 came from the Olde Town Fire Station and showed us the oxygen masks and a few dogs even got to sit in the fire truck!
